Fernando Puell Marín is Dr. Civil Engineer from Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos de Madrid.
During the years 1992-1994 is beneficiary of the "Agustín de Betancourt Grant”, developing a research career at the Department of Applied Geology in Civil Engineering, ETSI Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid).
In 2003, he received a doctor’s degree by the thesis "Application of nonlinear failure criteria to the overall stability of slopes in rock masses".
His professional career began in Initec (1996-1997), continuing in Ferrovial and Geocisa, where reaches the position of Head of the Engineering Geology Unit, developing it during the period 2000-2005. After that he was hired in PaymaCotas as Director of the Geotechnical Engineering Department until April 2007 when he stablished Orbis Terrarum Projects, until the present day.
Since 2004 is Associated Professor of the subject "Constructive Techniques in Engineering Geology" in the Geological Engineering degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is also admitted as a legal expert by the Professional Association of Civil Engineers of Spain.
He is the author of several articles on Geotechnical Engineering and speaker at some of the most important geotechnical conferences in Spain.
