Geotechnical Advisement
ORBIS TERRARUM develops an intensive and continuous geotechnical consulting work for government agencies, project developers and civil works construction companys, where a quick and effective solution against any difficulty related with the ground is highly appreciated.
The consulting work is managed and coordinated by Dr. Fernando Puell Marín, PhD. Civil Engineer from Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos (Madrid-Spain).
Our experience in Geotechnical Advising:
During 10 years Fernando Puell Marín is a University Teacher of the subject of 5th level “Constructive Techniques in Geological Engineering” as part of the degree of Geologist Engineer and teacher of the different subjects from the Master of Geotechnics, “Tunnels and Underground Excavations” and “Slopes and Foundations” from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain).
During the years 1993-1995, he receives the “Agustin de Betancourt” grant, developing a research work in the Department of Applied Geology in Civil Engineering from the ETS Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos (Polytechnic University of Madrid-Spain).
In 2003, he receives the Engineering PhD with the thesis “Application of nonlinear failure criteria to the overall stability of slopes in rock masses”. The two previous years he obtained a doctoral research grant from the Professional Association of Civil Engineers.
Additionally, He has worked for different Ground Engineering Consultants and Building companies. Since 2007 he is the Technical Director of the company Orbis, being involved of many different important project related with ground engineering, tunnel foundations and slope stability, not only dealing with private sector but also with public one, worldwide.

Furthermore, he is the author of numerous and various papers and articles about Ground Engineering and lecturer in the most important conferences and seminars about geotechnics in Spain, Portugal, Colombia, etc. Orbis Terrarum organizes specific courses on demand of clients and collaborates in education platforms such as Structuralia, of the Complutense University of Madrid
